Our hiring process occurs on a rolling basis according to the wonderful individuals that reach out to us wanting to join our team. Being a FLASH Advisor means giving young people in Florida a voice in science and service planning. That’s it—that’s the whole agenda. We exist online and can be joined from anywhere.
FLASH Advisor Duties
– Providing guidance on youth outreach and engagement strategies, such as recommending best practices for communications, as well as reviewing and providing publicity materials.
– Reviewing actual research materials, such as survey and focus group questions, to be certain we’re asking the right questions in the best possible way.
– Attending conferences, panels, and local planning committees to speak for the needs of underserved young people in Florida.
– Designing original, inclusive, sexual and mental health education and advocacy materials, in partnership with artists and researchers.
This is an ideal opportunity for young people who are interested in getting involved in health equity, advocacy, and research.
FLASH Advisor Logistics
LGBTQ+ and young people of color are encouraged to apply. You must be 18 years or older to apply, and you may set your own hours.
FLASH Advisors are independent contractors, paid $15/hr., disbursed monthly.
Working proficiency in written and spoken English.
No formal requirement: open to all! We are interested in applicants who demonstrate an understanding or passion for the sexual health needs of gender and sexuality diverse folks.
Years of Experience
Entry level position – 0-3 year range
Microsoft Office & Google Workspace; Zoom & Google Meets Videoconferencing; Microsoft Teams, Canva and Adobe. We are interested in applicants who are open to learning new forms of technology to promote the mission of FLASH.
